I’ve always been a strong believer in paying authors for their work, so I have to admit I was annoyed to listen to one of my WoW friends telling me how he tried to download a Zygor guide torrent (when he should have gone to Zygors website instead to buy the guide). What’s crazy is that the torrent he thought contained Zygors guides had in fact a trojan, which logged not only my friends WoW account details, but also any other information he typed onto his computer after being infected with the trojan/virus. He has since gotten rid of the trojan (well he thinks he has anyway), but he’s lost his WoW account. Clever guy (NOT).

I strongly recommend anyone considering illegaly downloading Zygor guides, or any other World of Warcraft guide, to reconsider, because it’s ridiculously easy to bundle a trojan with a WoW addon and then offer it for free on a torrent site, or any other rapidshare/warez/free download site.

If you want to get your hands on Zygor’s guides, just get it from Zygor himself through his official website. You’ll be a member for life, you’ll support the huge amount of money and time Zygor put into his amazing product, and you’ll have the peace of mind that you get when you buy the legit way, without having to worry about having your account security compromised.

P.S. Some people may accuse me of being ‘anti-sharing’ or some other crap like that, but the fact is, non-commercial stuff made by independant, small time developers who don’t make millions shouldn’t be ok and anyone who thinks so is a fool. Sure, downloading a Metallica or 50 Cent torrent isn’t something I would speak against, those guys made their millions and downloading really isn’t going to hurt them financially. But for independant, small timers like Zygor Guides who actually put in a lot of work and money and aren’t any richer than the rest of us, downloading can actually kill their business. Using torrents can, will and does kill the guys who aren’t backed by big corporations. Ok rant over lol
