It’s interesting to see the different approaches taken by professional WoW leveling guide vendors on how they level their characters. For example, I was looking at Team iDemise’s website and noticed that their World of Warcraft leveling guide is in fact heavily integrated into their map mod, the same map mod they developed by endlessly questing and playing WoW at a professional level to find out the fastest route to level 70.

This is quite a unique advantage and one you won’t see in the other WoW leveling guides out there, because a map mod which tells you the full 1-70 leveling process means you won’t have to keep switching windows to gain your leveling instructions, as you can simply switch to your map and read it from there while tracking it visually from the map itself.

I’ve been asked this question many, many times before. Here’s what I have to say about the whole subject of scams and World of Warcraft leveling guides.

First of all, it depends what you define as a scam. Some define a poor quality WoW leveling guide as a ’scam’, others cry ’scam’ only if the World of Warcraft leveling guide fails to deliver by a longshot, or even does not physically deliver at all.

There are very few WoW leveling guides, if any, that actually aren’t given to buyers upon purchase. So you can be quite sure that if you purchase a WoW leveling guide online, you will get it, in most cases instantly through a digital download after you make payment.

However, there are many WoW leveling guides out there which are of an incredibly poor quality. These guides are littered on eBay and on the less well known WoW guide selling sites. You should avoid these if you don’t want to waste your money on a useless product.

Unfortunately, it’s pricey, and at $37 for Horde only with no Alliance, you should only get it if you have the money and you don’t intend on playing as an Alliance in the future.)

Team iDemise’s 1-70 Horde & Alliance Leveling Guides (4/5 - What makes this guide unique is that it is actually a map mod which you can level with in-game, great for those who don’t like switching windows. Team iDemise now offer a Horde and Alliance guide, but at a hefty $70 for the two, it’s the most expensive guide in the market.

Brian Kopp’s 1-70 Alliance Leveling Guide (4/5 - Kopp was the first to launch an Alliance leveling guide, and it is still one of the best today, on par with iDemise. However, iDemise’s map mod integration really pushed them just that one bit further. Still a very good guide, but just beaten by new rival Team iDemise. Downside? Like iDemise and Joana, it’s pricey, and it’s Alliance-only.)

So there you have it, as long as you go with one of the above, I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. My personal recommendation is to go with Elite WoW, it’s the only one which gives you Horde AND Alliance, and suprisingly, it’s the lowest priced guide too!

If you haven’t done so already, I recommend you go to the Official World of Warcraft website and check out their game guide section. True, it may not have a leveling guide, but its got lots of free information and resources on WoW, and best of all it’s free.

Everything you need to know about races, reputations, items, transportation, player interaction, pvp and the world itself are within the World of Warcraft website under the game guide section, and it’s especially useful to newbies and beginner players of WoW.

Of course, this is clearly no substitue for a leveling guide. Blizzard have not and most probably will not release a leveling guide telling WoW players how to get to the highest level.

Who can blame them?

The current top World of Warcraft leveling guides, in particular Team iDemise’s Alliance Guide and Joana’s Horde Guide, teach WoW players how to get to level 70 in under a week of game time. If every WoW player could freely access Blizzard’s official WoW site and download their official WoW leveling guide then Blizzard would practically be destroying its own business, as it is naturally in Blizzard’s interest to keep gamers playing WoW for as long as possible, and that means making the leveling process as long and compelling as they possibly can.

But if you just want a game guide which teaches you everything about the game so you can play WoW and level your character the way you want to, then by all means go ahead and visit the official World of Warcraft Game Guide.

But if you want a Horde or Alliance guide which tells you how to get to level 70 as fast as possible, then you should definitely check out Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide or Team iDemise’s Alliance Leveling Guide.

Blizzard have not yet announced the release date of the upcoming WoW expansion. However, there has already been quite a bit of speculation that the game will hit the shelves on November the 3rd, 2008.

Regardless of the release date, the new WoW expansion will surely get World of Warcraft gamers everywhere questing and grinding it out to level 80 as fast as they possibly can. It’s a sad fact but there are a lot of hardcore gamers out there who simply don’t give the rest of us (with social lives) a chance to catch up.

The solution?

Well I for one am going to be using Joana’s Horde guide and Team iDemise’s Alliance guide to level my Horde and Alliance level 70 characters up to the new level 80 threshold. Given the number of hardcore gamers and my desire to not fall behind my mates in the game, I’m pretty sure these two will deliver a top quality guide for the Wrath of the Lich King.

I have seen quite a few free World of Warcraft leveling guides while searching Google these past few weeks. Most are quite good considering the fact that you can use them to level your character free of charge. However, these online guides always lack the detail and usefulness that can be gained through a premium WoW guide.

Take Joana’s Horde leveling guide for example.
